Raydale Water Features: High Blean B&B, Askrigg, Yorkshire Dales

Raydale has numerous water features along the whole length of both sides of the valley.

Some of which are running most of the year, some that spring up as soon as there is some rain fall and others that are only active following a period of prolonged rain fall.

The one characteristic familiar to all of these water features, is that the more rain we have the more dramatic they appear.

We have just enjoyed a few days of prolonged and heavy rainfall and while this can be limiting, there is a real plus side. Within 200 yards of High Blean there three water falls and a classic self supporting soldier arch stream crossing, so, following a cessation in the downpour I went out to capture the increased water flow.
