Dip in the Dales: Sue Ryder Semer Water Swim

The Sue Ryder Dip in the Dales is this year taking place on Saturday 2nd August, with swimming commencing at 11am.

The organisers are hoping to make this years event even bigger and in their words Incredible.

And the winner is: Janh Hanson

And the winner is: Janh Hanson

They hope to attract even more entrants than the impressive filed that braved lasts years, less then ideal condition, and which saw High Blean B&B guest Jahn Hanson turn in a very quick time to come in first place.

So if you are up for a swim in Yorkshire’s largest natural lake get your entry in and come along. There are bacon sandwiches and tea, coffee and home made cakes for those not dipping their toes with all the proceeds going to Sue Ryder .

If conditions on the 2nd August are anything like they have been recently, then it will be a very pleasant swim, but we are in North Yorkshire where the weather can change even in August!

You can check the five day forecast for the area here, which is based on information for a weather station by the bridge at the bottom end of Semer Water and the start of the River Bain, the shortest river in the UK.
