The 2013 Wensleydale Agricultural Show is to be held at the Showground at Leyburn just off the A6108 on Saturday 24th August. Post code for satnav DL8 5JG
There are a whole host of events taking place, many of which one would expect at a local traditional to local show and some, such as dry stone walling, which fit perfectly into a show in the Yorkshire Dales.
Carol and Mazie
The working sheep dogs of Carol and her son Phillip Mellin will be at the show, if you have watch previous series of The Dales you will have seen Carol , and her son. Carol also herds ducks with dogs! Phillip, since losing his father, has taken over the role of farmer and has had some success with his sheep dogs, which he is training for sale.
A display of cattle, sheep and pigs and rabbits will be taking place and there will be heavy horses and horse riding and driving will be demonstrated.
Gates open at 09:45 with the show closing at 17:00
£8 Adults £4 Children [5 to 16] Under 5’s free. There is a family ticket available for £20 and there is an advance ticket sale discount on the website.
The Leyburn show ground is only 14 miles from High Blean Bed & Breakfast, Bainbridge.
