The cycle of life starts again! High Blean B&B Bainbridge.

The farming cycle has started once more, here in Raydale just off from Bainbridge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, with lambs starting to be born at our neighbours,  Denis & Margaret, whose farm is in the shadow of Addleborough.

Snow on Addleborough

If last years exceptionally wet weather was not bad enough to contend with, we now have one of the coldest March’s on record and there is still plenty of snow up here and more forecasts.

Denis & Margaret are lambing indoors which reduces infant mortality rate dramatically.

Here are some 3 day old lambs in the nursery, which have had to remain indoors due to a lack of grass growth. This is the start of lambing, so hopefully, the weather will improve over the course of the lambing period and these little chaps can soon get out into the fields.
